A Little About Me
Hi, I'm Mama T — the hobbyist, keeper, and heart behind Mama T's Aquatics. I've been keeping aquariums since 2021, and what started as a personal passion for the tiny lives that make a tank special turned into something I wanted to share. Based in Sterling, Illinois, I raise shrimp and snails in small batches right at home, giving each animal individual attention before it ever ships to yours.
Home-Raised, Not Mass-Produced
Every shrimp and snail in my store was raised in my own tanks — not sourced from a warehouse or wholesaler. Small-batch means I can actually keep an eye on behavior, water quality, and health. You're getting an animal that's been cared for, not just counted.
Established-Tank Guidance
Before you bring home any aquatic animal, your tank needs to be fully cycled and appropriate for the species you're choosing. I don't just ship and forget — I'm happy to answer questions about compatibility, parameters, and setup before you order. Reach out anytime. Your tank's success matters to me.
The Tropical Tank Approach
Everything at Mama T's Aquatics is guided by a simple idea: healthy, thriving animals in tanks that their keepers love. Whether you're adding a colony of neocaridina shrimp, a group of mystery snails, or looking for your next centerpiece species, I want you to feel confident in every choice you make.
