Purple Mystery Snail

What you’ll receive: Juvenile, unsexed Purple Mystery Snails, not full-grown adults. Sex is not guaranteed. Individual size and coloration vary.

Purple mystery snails are popular freshwater additions known for their striking deep purple coloring and peaceful demeanor. These algae-eating snails help maintain tank cleanliness by grazing on algae buildup, reducing maintenance needs while adding visual interest to your aquarium.

Water parameters:

• pH: 7.0-8.0 (slightly neutral to alkaline)
• Temperature: 68-82 °F
• Hardness: 8-18 dGH

Care requirements: Mystery snails thrive in established tanks with good filtration and regular water changes. They prefer calm environments with minimal disturbance and appreciate hiding spots among plants and décor. Feed a varied diet of vegetables like blanched zucchini and commercial sinking pellets. Provide adequate calcium through limestone or cuttlebone to support shell health. These snails are escape artists, so ensure your tank has a secure lid. They do well in community setups with peaceful fish and other snails.

Lifespan: 2-3 years with proper care. A hardy and low-maintenance choice for beginner and experienced aquarists alike.

Shipping & DOA policy: Live snails are shipped via UPS Next Day Air only. Orders shipped to areas with extreme heat conditions that did not select UPS Next Day Air shipping are not eligible for DOA (Dead on Arrival) coverage. We recommend Next Day Air for the safest arrival during warm months.
